Getting started
Make a teleport pad in Roblox with BloxBot
October 16, 2026
A teleport pad gives players a quick route across one Roblox place. You will make a visible entrance near spawn and a safe landing point on the far side of the baseplate. Walk onto the entrance in Play mode to check that it moves only your character.
Before you start
Open a Baseplate place in Roblox Studio and connect BloxBot. Use the setup guide if you need help connecting. This project moves a character inside the same place. Roblox's TeleportService guide covers travel between separate places and servers; you do not need that service here.
1. Ask BloxBot for one working route
Paste this request while the Baseplate place is open:
In my open Roblox Studio place, make one one-way teleport pad near the spawn and a clearly marked landing area about 40 studs away on the baseplate. Keep both parts anchored and visible. The entrance should be touchable. Add a server Script that moves only the player character who touches the entrance to a point just above the landing area. Use the touched character's player to verify it is a player, and use Model:PivotTo to move the whole character. Add a short per-player cooldown so a body part touching the pad twice cannot trigger repeated moves. Make the landing marker non-touchable so it cannot send the player back. Do not add another place, a second teleport, or extra UI. Tell me which objects and script you made.
Roblox documents BasePart.Touched for detecting contact, Players:GetPlayerFromCharacter() for identifying a player, and PivotTo() for moving a model. The cooldown and one-way layout keep this first project easy to test.
2. Test the trip
- Press Play or F5 in Studio. Walk onto the entrance pad.
- Check that your character lands above the marked destination and can walk away without getting stuck in the floor.
- Walk on the landing marker. Nothing else should happen.
- Use Server & Clients with two players. Have one player touch the entrance. The other should stay where they are.
3. Fix what you can observe
- Nothing happens: confirm the entrance is reachable and
CanTouchis enabled. Ask BloxBot to inspect the server Script and the Output window for errors. - You land inside the floor: ask BloxBot to place the character's pivot higher than the landing surface, then replay the trip.
- It triggers repeatedly: ask BloxBot to set a cooldown for that player before moving the character, and ensure the destination is not another active entrance.
- Both players move: ask BloxBot to use the player found from the touched character, rather than looping over all players.
Once this works, try adding the pad as a shortcut in your obby. Keep the landing point on solid ground so the shortcut helps rather than sending players into a hazard.
