BloxBot vs Roblox Assistant
Facts checked November 5, 2026 against Roblox Assistant's own pages. Written by the BloxBot team, so we've tried hard to be fair.
The short answer
Use Roblox Assistant if you want zero setup and Roblox's own generation tools inside Studio. Use BloxBot if you want to choose the model, build on a Claude or ChatGPT plan you already pay for, and work from a dedicated window with an editable Explorer and Blender 3D modeling. Many creators use both on the same open place.
About Roblox Assistant
Roblox Assistant is the AI built into Roblox Studio. Roblox describes it as a language model combined with a run-command system that acts directly on your data model. Since April 2026 it has Agent and Plan modes with cloud-saved plans, a Playtest Agent beta, creator-authored Skills, Creator Store search and insert, and text-to-mesh, procedural model and material generation.
BloxBot is a free, open-source desktop AI agent for Roblox Studio. It connects any model, including a Claude or ChatGPT plan, to Roblox's official Studio MCP server, and adds a live Explorer, playtest plans and, from version 0.15, one-click Blender 3D modeling.
Looking for a Roblox Assistant alternative?
Roblox Assistant is built into Studio with Planning Mode, a Playtest Agent and first-party mesh generation. BloxBot is a free, open-source desktop agent that runs any model, including your Claude or ChatGPT plan, on the same Studio MCP. An honest comparison.

Where Roblox Assistant is better
- Nothing to install and nothing to configure. It is already in Studio.
- First-party generation: text or image to textured mesh, procedural models and materials, all inside Studio.
- The Playtest Agent drives the actual player character as an automated tester.
- Skills are reusable and also work in third-party MCP clients, BloxBot included.
- The Playtest Agent runs on Roblox's model, so it doesn't use your own tokens.
- Chat history and plans are saved in the cloud, and Assistant can search and insert Creator Store assets.
- Roblox Build (public alpha in New Zealand, Serbia and Singapore) makes simple 2D and 2.5D games from prompts in the Roblox mobile app.
Where BloxBot is better
- Any model, including free ones, and you can switch per task without managing API keys (Assistant can reach other models through BYOK API keys).
- Build on a ChatGPT Plus/Pro plan, or a Claude Pro/Max plan through your own Claude Code login (at your own risk).
- A dedicated workspace: long builds keep running with notifications, and the Explorer lets you reference and edit objects next to the chat.
- Blender modeling for props with exact dimensions and a consistent style, with one-click upload through Studio.
- Open source and MIT licensed: you can read, fork and modify it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use BloxBot and Roblox Assistant together?
Yes. Both work with Roblox Studio, and BloxBot connects through Studio's own MCP server. Assistant's creator-authored Skills also work in third-party MCP clients.
Is Roblox Assistant free?
Assistant has a free default model with a usage quota, and Roblox lets you bring your own API key for other models, including Claude. Roblox doesn't publish the exact quota.
Which is better for 3D models?
Different jobs. Assistant generates meshes, procedural models and materials from a prompt inside Studio. BloxBot 0.15 has the agent model in Blender, which suits exact sizes, consistent low-poly sets and models you'll edit later, then uploads them through Studio.
