BloxBot 0.14: a redesigned app on OpenCode 2
November 5, 2026
BloxBot 0.14.0 shipped on November 4, 2026, and it is the biggest release since BloxBot started. The app has been redesigned, it runs on OpenCode 2, and it picked up three things people asked for most: Claude plans, an Explorer that edits your place, and a way to tell the agent how you work. This page is the tour.
One calm surface
The old interface showed everything at once: token counts, an agent picker, plan cards, big tool blocks. 0.14 strips that back.
- Compact tool activity. Each Studio action is one line you can open for the detail, so a long build reads like a log instead of a wall.
- One message box. Your model and reasoning effort sit in it. Effort levels now say what they do instead of being a bare slider.
- The plan is a pill. While the agent works, its task list sits above the message box instead of filling the chat.
- Explorer and Playtest moved to the top bar, and the text uses a desktop type scale based on OpenCode's and macOS's rather than web-sized text.
OpenCode 2 and Code Mode
BloxBot is a desktop app around OpenCode, the open-source coding agent. 0.14 moves to OpenCode 2, and your chats and providers carry over. OpenCode stopped offering its free models on version 1, so staying behind wasn't an option for the many people who start on those.
The headline OpenCode 2 feature for Roblox work is Code Mode. A model can now write a short script that makes several Studio tool calls in one step instead of one call per round trip. Reading ten scripts, or checking every checkpoint in an obby, becomes one step. The chat shows the code it ran and the result, so nothing happens out of sight.
Use your Claude plan
The new Claude Agent provider runs your own Claude Code login through Anthropic's Agent SDK, so you can build on a Claude Pro or Max plan instead of API credits, at your own risk. The full steps and the caveats are in using your Claude plan in BloxBot.
Edit your place in the Explorer
The Explorer was rebuilt for big places and now edits objects directly: properties, attributes, tags, rename, duplicate, delete, and dragging an object into your message to reference it. That one deserves its own page: the BloxBot Explorer.
Tell BloxBot how you work
- Settings → Instructions. Write what BloxBot should keep in mind in every chat: your naming conventions, “server logic goes in ServerScriptService”, “always use typed Luau”. They are saved as BloxBot's own
AGENTS.md. The agent picker is gone; this replaces it. - Your other setups stay out. BloxBot no longer loads skills, instructions or config from
~/.claude,~/.agents,~/.opencodeor folders above its workspace. What you write in Instructions is what it follows. - The system prompt is editable, with a warning: changing it can make BloxBot worse at Studio work, and your next message costs more.
Goals and slash commands
A goal now shows above the message box with its objective and buttons to pause, resume or clear it. Set one with /goal to give the agent an objective to work toward, and stay in control of it from the message box.
Slash commands now run, matching OpenCode's desktop app: /goal, /init, /review, /new, /undo, /redo, /compact, /fork, /export, /model, /connect, /reload and your own custom commands. @ and / suggestions open above the message box and find objects in your place even with the Explorer closed.
Notifications
Long builds don't need watching. When BloxBot isn't the app in front, it sends a system notification when a chat finishes, hits a problem, or is waiting for your answer or approval. Clicking one opens that chat. Inside the app, a toast does the same for chats you aren't looking at. Choose which ones you get, and turn off the soft chime, in Settings → Notifications.
Other improvements in 0.14
- The free-limit popup is gone. The chat explains the limit in place and counts down to the reset.
- Chats no longer get stuck on “Thinking...” when you reach the free limit.
- Settings → Providers lists each provider's models under it, replacing the separate Models tab.
- Edits made by GPT models show as edits instead of an unknown tool.
- Providers show OpenCode's official logos, which work offline.
Now in 0.15: 3D models with Blender
BloxBot 0.15 adds one-click Blender: the agent makes 3D models in Blender, you check them in the chat, and once Studio's permissions are on, one click uploads them to your published place. See Blender 3D models in BloxBot.
Frequently asked questions
What changed in BloxBot 0.14?
A redesigned interface, a move to OpenCode 2 with Code Mode, the Claude Agent provider for Claude plans, a rebuilt Explorer that edits objects in place, Settings → Instructions, goals, system notifications, and slash commands that actually run.
Do my chats and providers carry over to BloxBot 0.14?
Yes. BloxBot 0.14 moves to OpenCode 2, and your chats and connected providers carry over. OpenCode no longer supports its free models on version 1, which is part of why the move happened now.
What is Code Mode in BloxBot?
Code Mode is an OpenCode 2 feature. Instead of making one Studio tool call per step, the model can write a short script that makes several Studio tool calls at once. BloxBot shows the code it ran and what came back.
Where did the agent picker go?
BloxBot now has one assistant. To change how it behaves, write instructions under Settings → Instructions. They are saved as BloxBot's own AGENTS.md and apply to every chat.
